The Boy from Below is a 2026 '90s-style horror-slasher film. Set on Halloween in 1997, it follows video store clerk Quinn Curtis in the small town of Carpenter Falls as she is targeted by a masked killer obsessed with horror films. Quinn must rely on her deep genre knowledge to survive the night.The film is a throwback stalk-and-slash directed by Tory Jones and features a notable cast of genre legends, including Dee Wallace, Felissa Rose, and Tommy Lee Wallace.


The plot combines nostalgic horror references, small-town mystery, and a classic masked-killer setup while celebrating the ’90s culture of renting VHS tapes and discovering new nightmares from the shelves of local video stores. The movie was directed by Tory Jones, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jerron Spencer. It serves as the third installment in Jones’ Carpenter Falls horror universe, following The Wicked One (2017) and The Wicked Ones (2020). The film stars Spooky Madison, Jack Norman, Dee Wallace, Felissa Rose and Chaney Morrow.


Plot: On Halloween night in 1997, Quinn Curtis is working at her family’s video store when the festivities in Carpenter Falls take a terrifying turn. A masked murderer known only as The Boy begins hunting local residents, staging elaborate killings inspired by classic horror movies. As friends and townspeople start disappearing, Quinn realizes that the killer isn’t choosing his victims randomly. He appears to be orchestrating his own horror film, forcing everyone around him to become unwilling participants in his gruesome fantasy. Drawing upon years of watching slasher movies, Quinn recognizes familiar patterns in the killer’s methods and begins anticipating his next moves. Alongside a small group of survivors, she races through the night to uncover the truth behind The Boy’s identity and connection to Carpenter Falls’ violent past before becoming his next victim. The story builds toward a bloody final confrontation in which Quinn must rely not only on her horror knowledge but also on her courage and resourcefulness to survive the night.
